Practice Funding
The federal Heath Information Technology for Economic and Clinic Heath Act (HITECH Act) was signed into law in February 2009. It includes an estimated $44.7 billion in incentive payments from Medicare and Medicaid to providers who are meaningful users of certified electronic medical record (EMR) technology. These incentives will begin in FY 2011 and start phasing out after 2015 into penalties for non-use. The requirements for providers to be “meaningful users” include the ability to connect their office EMR to external data sources. PMG Technology Solutions can help the office achieve that goal.
